About the Role Western Digital's Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) team leads HDD new product development and mass production launches. You will design new production processes, identify issues during prototyping, and drive process improvements to ensure on-time market introduction. This role emphasizes teamwork across US HQ, product development, parts tech, quality, and overseas production facilities to deliver scalable manufacturing solutions. What You'll Do
- Lead HDA (Head Disk Assembly) process design
- Drive HDD new product introduction, mass production startup, and provide technical guidance
- Simplify production processes and reduce cycle times at HDD mass production factories
- Collaborate with US HQ, product development, parts technology, quality, and overseas factories to plan and implement new production processes
- Apply teamwork and problem-solving to overcome development and manufacturing challenges What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- 3+ years of engineering experience at manufacturers in electronics, consumer electronics, automotive, automotive parts, semiconductors, or related fields
- Experience with new manufacturing technologies or processes and mass production equipment introduction
- English: TOEIC 500+ (business documents in English commonly used internally)
- Japanese: business level or higher Nice to Have
- Engineering master's degree
- Experience launching new products at overseas production factories
