About the Role
Durham Veterinary Clinic, part of American Veterinary Group, is a well-established mixed animal practice serving canines, felines, bovine, and equine. We’re seeking a dedicated Veterinary Technician to support doctors, assist in surgeries, radiology, and the clinic's advanced technology in a collaborative, high-quality care environment.
What You'll Do
- Assist veterinarians in exams, procedures, surgeries, and anesthesia monitoring
- Perform nursing duties including vital signs, sample collection, medications administration, and client communication
- Prepare and maintain the surgical suite, sterilize instruments, and manage anesthesia equipment
- Operate and interpret digital radiology, and coordinate imaging under supervision
- Manage patient records, administer treatments, and provide client education and follow-up care
- Help care for small and large animal patients and assist with large animal equipment
- Maintain hospital equipment including the therapeutic laser and general facility cleanliness
What We're Looking For
- Certification and/or experience as a veterinary technician (e.g., CVT/LVT) or equivalent
- Strong teamwork and communication skills with clients and staff
- Comfort with a fast-paced mixed-animal environment and digital radiography, anesthesia, and surgery support
- Ability to handle multiple cases and maintain accurate medical records
- Willingness to work onsite at the Durham clinic
Nice to Have
- Experience with large animal care (bovine and equine)
- Familiarity with therapeutic laser and large animal handling
- Prior experience in a multi-doctor practice
