Job title: Unix Engineer and SRE
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain RHEL systems across development, testing, and production environments
- Design, implement, and support OpenShift container platforms
- Administer and troubleshoot JBoss application servers
- Utilise Red Hat Satellite for system provisioning, patching, and configuration management
- Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards
- Perform system upgrades, patches, and maintenance tasks
- Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations and processes
- Collaborate with development teams to support application deployment and operations
- Participate in on-call rotations for critical system support
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in Unix/Linux administration, with a focus on RHEL system administration and troubleshooting
- Experience in supporting Messaging Queue platforms (e.g. IBM MQ, Active MQ, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of OpenShift container platform administration
- Proficiency in using Red Hat Satellite for system management
- Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash) and at least one programming language (e.g., Python)
- Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols
- Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet)
- Knowledge of monitoring and logging solutions (e.g., Zabbix, ELK stack)
