Taylor University is seeking distinguished candidates to teach in the Department of English and Modern Languages in a tenure-track position beginning August 2026. Responsibilities include teaching Foundational Core courses, such as College Composition and survey literature (World, American, and/or British), as well as upper-level literature courses as needed. Candidates should bring or develop expertise in Early British studies or American literature. Engagement in scholarly activity, professional service, student advising, faculty governance responsibilities, and chapel attendance is expected. Participation in departmental assessment and accreditation efforts is also required.
Candidates should have a PhD in English with a literature emphasis and a strong record of teaching experience. A personal, vibrant faith and Christian walk, along with a strong commitment to Taylor University’s evangelical Christian mission, is essential.
Interest or expertise in Early British studies or American literature is welcomed.

The English and Modern Languages Department has nine full-time faculty and offers concentrations in Creative Writing, English Literature, English Education, and majors in Spanish and Spanish Education, with supervision of the University Writing Center and two literary journals.
