Job Summary
- This role serves as the bridge between the local Nigerian market and the headquarters product team. The person will deeply understand the actual needs of end users, installers, and distributors, and convert field experience and market information into product improvement suggestions. The role will support product localization, new product validation, product launch, and first-order implementation, thereby improving the competitiveness of the products in the local market.

Key Responsibilities
- Market and User Insight - Regularly visit end users, installers, and distributors to understand the electricity needs, purchasing decisions, and usage pain points of households and small commercial users. Key areas of focus include power outages, grid fluctuations, generator connection, load startup, battery backup duration, and installation convenience. Prepare research records and opportunity recommendations.
- Competitor Analysis and Product Comparison - Collect product specifications, pricing, functions, and customer feedback on major competing brands in the local market. Based on installation experience and actual testing, compare the advantages and disadvantages of products in terms of performance, installation, operation, and maintenance, providing support for product improvement and sales activities.
- Requirement Translation and Product Improvement - Organize customer feedback and field issues into clear product requirements, including the application scenario, impact of the issue, frequency of occurrence, and improvement suggestions. Assist headquarters in prioritizing requirements and follow up on review, development, and validation results.
- Localization Testing and New Product Launch - Participate in prototype testing, pilot installations, and customer trials to verify product adaptability to local grid conditions, generators, loads, and installation environments. Record issues and follow up on solutions. Work with the sales team to promote new products from trial stage to first order and subsequent sales implementation.
- Sales and Installer Enablement - Provide product introductions, selection guidance, and application training to local sales teams, distributors, and installers. Assist in improving installation guides, FAQs, and product comparison materials, and support communication with key customers.
- Product Feedback and Cross-Team Collaboration - Continuously track customer feedback, sales performance, and typical quality issues after product launch. Collaborate with headquarters product and R&D teams, as well as local sales and after-sales teams, to drive issue resolution, improvement validation, and knowledge sharing.
Job Requirements
- Previous product manager experience or a bachelor’s degree is not mandatory. The key evaluation criteria are practical installation experience, English communication ability, user understanding, and learning potential.
- At least 3 years of experience in photovoltaic and energy storage system installation, with practical project experience in Nigeria. Familiar with the installation, commissioning, and common troubleshooting of inverters, energy storage batteries, and related equipment.
- Fluent in English communication, able to independently conduct customer interviews, product introductions, and technical discussions. Able to clearly report requirements and field issues to headquarters through English emails or brief reports.
- Familiar with electricity usage scenarios for local household and small commercial users. Able to understand customer needs based on field situations and identify improvement opportunities in product installation, usage, and maintenance.
- Good communication, logical expression, and proactive follow-up skills. Able to clearly explain problems, coordinate relevant parties, and continuously follow up on resolution progress.
- Willing to develop from an installation technical role into a product management role, with the initiative to learn market research, competitor analysis, requirement management, and new product launch processes.
- Able to use basic office tools to prepare research records, product comparisons, and test reports. Willing to travel within Nigeria.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in installing and commissioning multiple brands of inverters and energy storage batteries, with the ability to objectively compare the advantages and disadvantages of different products.
- Experience independently completing system selection, configuration, installation delivery, and customer training.
- Experience in installation team management, installer training, or new product trial feedback.
- Good working relationships with local installers, distributors, or end customers.
- Educational or vocational training background in electrical engineering, electronics, renewable energy, or related fields.
Key Deliverables:

- Clear, verifiable, and continuously followed-up product requirements and issue lists.
- Complete records of prototype testing, pilot feedback, and new product launch support.
