Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountant to join our Finance and Accounting team. This position will support daily accounting operations, general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, and month-end closing activities to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This role will also collaborate with cross-functional teams, support internal controls, and identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiency.

Job Responsibilities

General Accounting & Financial Operations

  • Perform daily accounting activities, including recording journal entries, maintaining general ledger accounts, and processing financial transactions.
  • Verify and reconcile vendor invoices, purchase orders, payment terms, and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy.
  • Support accounts payable activities, including payment processing, invoice reconciliation, and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure transactions are properly recorded in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.

Month-End Closing & Account Reconciliation

  • Assist with month-end closing activities to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Assist with preparing and recording journal entries, including accruals, prepaid expenses, and other necessary adjustments.
  • Perform bank reconciliations, general ledger reconciliations, and balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Review account balances, investigate discrepancies, and communicate unresolved items to management.

Internal Controls & Compliance

  • Verify the accuracy and completeness of financial records and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and requested documentation.
  • Identify accounting discrepancies, potential risks, and opportunities to strengthen financial controls.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Process Improvement

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Retail, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Operations, to resolve accounting-related issues and support accurate financial reporting.
  • Assist internal stakeholders in understanding financial transactions, expenses, and their impact on business operations.
  • Participate in accounting-related projects and support the implementation of process improvements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of professional experience in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Proficiency in both English and Mandarin, including verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy and accountability.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with accounting software or ERP systems, such as NetSuite or QuickBooks.
  • Previous accounting experience in e-commerce, retail, distribution, or related industries.
  • Familiarity with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
