A Snapshot of Your Day
•As a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) for Generators and Electrical Systems, you will be responsible for driving supplier quality excellence, mainly for Generators and Electrical Systems.
- Acting as a key expert within the supplier quality organization, you will work closely with global and regional commodity teams, suppliers, engineering and global quality team to support supplier qualification, process and product changes, non-commence resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.
•With a strong focus on the Chinese supply base, you will leverage local market knowledge, manufacturing expertise, and supplier development capabilities to strength supplier performance and support business growth.
How You’ll Make an Impact
•Lead supplier qualification, product validation, and process change management for generators and electrical systems throughout the product lifecycle.
•Drive Supplier development programs, quality audits, and technical assessments to evaluate manufacturing capability, process maturity, product capacity, and compliance with Siemens Energy requirements.
•Lead supplier non-conformance investigations, containment activates, utilizing structured problem-solving methodologies to drive sustainable corrective and preventive actions.
•Analyze supplier quality and performance data to identify improvement opportunities and drive defect reduction, process control, and operational excellence.
•Collaborate with engineering and sourcing teams to support local for global initiatives, new supplier development, and risk mitigation activities.
•Share technical expertise, best practices, and lessons learned across the global supplier quality network to strengthen organizational capability and supplier quality standards.
•Act as a subject matter expert for generators, electrical systems, providing technical guidance and mentoring to colleagues and suppliers worldwide.
What You Bring
•Master’s or bachelor’s Degree with Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related educational background.
•Minimum 5 years’ experience in industrial generator-related business, with solid knowledge of generator manufacturing processes, including rotor and stator production, insulation systems, machining, assembly, critical components quality assurance, inspection methodologies, and final FAT procedures, such as insulation resistance testing, winding resistance measurement, partial discharge, temperature rise testing, overspeed testing, and rotor dynamic balancing, etc.
•Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in production process qualification activities, implementation of engineering changes, and supplier development initiatives, ensuring compliance with Siemens Energy quality standards and processes.
•Strong knowledge of quality management tools and methodologies, including FMEA, RCA, 8D, and risk management, with a focus on product performance, quality, delivery and resource optimization.
•Experience leading supplier development, technical surveillance audits and assessments to evaluate manufacturing capability, capacity and compliance.
•Ability to embed core quality methodologies and engineering concepts internally and across the supply chain.
•Demonstrated success driving continuous improvement, process control, yield improvements and resolution of non-conformances using structured problem-solving methodologies.
Commitment, positivity and structured work habits, with a willingness to travel globally as required to support the supplier quality team.
•Knowledge of other electrical systems materials is plus, such as MCC, Generator Control and Protection System etc.
•Good written and verbal English communication skills are required to effectively support projects and collaborate with international teams.
