Job title: Software Engineer for Investment Accounting
About the Role The Software Engineer for Investment Accounting will develop and maintain features in SimCorp's Accounting product area, contributing across the full development lifecycle and collaborating with Product Managers and Architects to deliver high-quality solutions for leading financial clients.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain features in the Accounting product areas.
- Contribute across the entire development lifecycle—from requirements analysis and design to implementation, test automation, documentation, and ongoing support.
- Collaborate with teammates, Product Managers, and Architects to deliver secure, high-quality solutions.
- Create, document, and maintain test cases and automated tests (system, integration, unit) to cover acceptance criteria.
- Uphold engineering best practices and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Learn deeply about the Accounting domain and how products support customer outcomes.
- Be open to feedback, mentorship, and knowledge sharing within the team.
What We're Looking For
- Strong software engineering fundamentals (algorithms and data structures).
- Willingness to learn and work with in-house tools/frameworks, especially APL.
- Proficiency in at least one object-oriented or functional programming language (C# a plus).
- Familiarity with CI/CD and trunk-based development.
- Experience with relational databases and SQL.
- Readiness to work in a complex accounting domain involving financial and investment instruments.
- Good English skills (upper-intermediate or higher).
- Experience with cloud technologies; fintech domain is a plus.
Nice to Have
- Proficiency with the APL programming language.
