Bring your automation expertise to some of the industry's most technically demanding Grid Automation projects. This position serves as a key authority for substation control systems, driving engineering excellence in HMI/SCADA applications, communication infrastructure, and system integration. Close collaboration with project teams, customers, and suppliers ensures automation solutions meet the highest standards of performance, security, and reliability. Through innovative engineering and technical leadership, you will play an important role in advancing the modernization of power systems worldwide.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Lead the development of control system concepts and technical specifications for Substation Automation projects, covering RTUs, HMI/SCADA platforms, communication gateways, and intelligent electronic devices (IEDs).
  • Create robust network architectures, evaluate and select automation components, and contribute technical expertise to customer proposals and solution designs.
  • Plan and execute Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), ensuring systems meet functional, performance, and customer requirements before deployment.
  • Produce and review key project documentation, including functional design specifications, signal lists, communication matrices, and test records.
  • Drive the integration of innovative technologies and cybersecurity measures to strengthen the performance, resilience, and compliance of automation systems.
  • Guide and oversee external suppliers throughout project execution, ensuring quality standards, delivery schedules, and technical requirements are consistently achieved.

What You Bring

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Power Systems, or a related technical discipline.
  • More than 10 years of professional experience delivering HMI/SCADA and Substation Automation solutions within transmission and distribution environments.
  • Extensive expertise with industry-leading automation platforms such as WinCC, Zenon, ZEE600, SICAM PAS, SICAM A8000, or equivalent solutions from other suppliers.
  • Strong background in SCADA communication gateways, control system integration, process data management, and remote-control center connectivity.
  • In-depth knowledge of communication standards including IEC 60870-5-101, IEC 60870-5-104, and IEC 61850, combined with a solid understanding of industrial communication networks.
  • Excellent English communication skills and comprehensive knowledge of the energy sector; German language capabilities would be considered an advantage.
