Microsoft 365 Intelligent Conversation and Communications Cloud (IC3) powers real-time communication experiences across Microsoft Teams, Dynamics, Azure Communication Services, and other Microsoft products and services. Our platform delivers reliable, high-quality messaging, meetings, and audio/video calling experiences for customers around the world.

Join IC3 Security Engineering as we build scalable systems that help protect cloud services and automate security risk remediation. Our team is developing centralized security capabilities that enable service owners to identify, understand, and address security risks efficiently, using AI and automation to improve security operations at scale.

As a Senior Software Engineer on the IC3 AEGIS team, you will design and build an AI-driven platform supporting centralized security automation and risk remediation. You will develop intelligent services that evaluate security requirements and service posture and help automate remediation across IC3. You will work on large-scale cloud and security systems while applying AI and automation to real-world security engineering challenges.

This opportunity will allow you to deepen your expertise in distributed systems, cloud security, and AI-assisted engineering while collaborating with teams across Microsoft to build reliable and scalable security solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
  • Design and develop services and platform capabilities that support security automation and risk remediation at scale.
  • Identify technical dependencies and contribute to the architecture and design of products, services, and platform capabilities.
  • Write, test, debug, optimize, and maintain high-quality production code with a focus on performance, maintainability, reliability, and security.
  • Partner with engineering, security, and product teams to plan and deliver features and service improvements.
  • Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI), helping monitor services, investigate service degradation or interruptions, and restore service when needed.
  • Improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, security, and performance of production services through engineering best practices.
  • Explore and apply emerging technologies, including AI-assisted development and automation, to improve security engineering and operational workflows.

Qualifications

  • Required/Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
