Senior SLAM Engineer

Role overview Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Senior SLAM Engineer (C++/Python) for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Poland. Our client is an American mobile computing company. They provide AI innovation and acceleration for the company's Business Units and are working on CV and GenAI solutions with an emphasis on device inference (Mostly Qualcomm chipsets). Researchers create/fine-tune models and hand them over to the engineering team to optimize, quantize, etc. The team then builds an application solution with customers to demonstrate value.

We are seeking an outcome-oriented and experienced SLAM Engineer to join a dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) and a solid understanding of modern SLAM techniques and recent developments in the field.

Requirements

• Strong practical experience with SLAM.
• Strong programming skills in C++ and/or Python.
• Good knowledge of recent SLAM approaches and developments in the field.
• Understanding of optimization techniques commonly used in SLAM.
• Experience working with real-world sensor data and debugging complex perception systems.
• Ability to independently investigate technical problems and deliver effective, outcome-focused solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and improve SLAM algorithms and related localization and mapping components.

• Evaluate and apply modern SLAM approaches based on product and project requirements.

• Improve the robustness, accuracy, and performance of localization and mapping solutions.

• Analyze algorithm performance, identify limitations, and troubleshoot complex technical issues.

• Collaborate with engineering and research teams on integration, testing, and optimization.

• Stay current with recent research, frameworks, and best practices in SLAM and robotic perception.
