SCUBAPRO develops diving computers in Switzerland for demanding sport and professional divers. Our products combine electronics, software, sensors, mechanics, and rigorous validation in a safety-critical environment. As part of the Johnson Outdoors group, we operate internationally, with development in Switzerland and production in Asia.

To strengthen our R&D team in Spreitenbach we are looking for an experienced, pragmatic and highly team-oriented Senior Hardware Engineer.

Your role
-
You will take a central role in the hardware development of our dive computers and accompany electronic assemblies through the entire product lifecycle: from concept and circuit design through prototypes, bring-up and validation to series production, sustaining and production support.
In particular your responsibilities include:

Development of analog and digital circuits for compact, robust electronic products

Hardware design around microcontrollers, sensors, battery operation, charging electronics and communication interfaces

Schematic and layout work in Altium Designer

Bring-up, debugging, measurements and root-cause analysis on prototypes and series products

Supporting validation, EMI/compliance topics and technical documentation

Close collaboration with firmware development, mechanical development, Manufacturing Engineering/Production, as well as suppliers and external development partners

Support for series production, especially in production problems, supplier changes, obsolescence issues and test fixtures

Assessing technical risks and developing pragmatic, manufacturable solutions

Your profile
-
You are an experienced hardware engineer who works pragmatically, takes responsibility and feels comfortable in a small-to-medium sized development environment with broad responsibilities. You work independently, drive technical topics proactively and collaborate closely and constructively with the hardware team and other functional areas. You share knowledge actively and enjoy developing products as well as supporting them through their lifecycle.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Embedded Systems or comparable education
- Several years in industry developing electronic products
- Experience in analog and digital circuit design
- Good knowledge of Altium Designer or similar ECAD tools
- Experience with microcontrollers, sensors, battery operation or charging electronics
- Practical experience with bring-up, measurement technology and debugging
- Understanding of serial production, DFM/DFT, PCBA manufacturing, production support and technical documentation
- Ability to assess technical risks clearly and develop pragmatic solutions, as well as openness to innovation and technical advances
- Strong teamwork skills, enjoyment of working with colleagues on tasks and constructive contribution to joint solutions
- Ability to present technical arguments and risks and to constructively support decisions after joint assessment
- Good German and very good English skills
