About this Position
We are seeking an experienced Automation Project Engineer to drive the implementation of a Lights-Out Manufacturing Strategy, transitioning from Industry 4.0 toward Industry 5.0. This role will define and implement scalable automation solutions and roll them out across multiple sites, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and fostering digital adoption.
What you´ll do
- Identify automation opportunities supporting the transition from Industry 4.0 to Industry 5.0 and autonomous operations.
- Develop scalable, compliant automation solutions and assess feasibility for multi-site roll-out with cross-functional teams.
- Prepare project approval and execution documentation, including budgets, schedules and resources, per corporate requirements.
- Lead Lighthouse Automation Projects from detailed design and construction through commissioning and start-up.
- Monitor, control and report project costs and progress against budgets and schedules.
- Build strategic relationships with technology vendors and partners to support long-term automation goals.
- Capture project lessons learned, implement improvements and ensure regulatory and cybersecurity compliance.
- Drive digital adoption, organizational change and human-machine collaboration.
What makes you a good fit

- Languages: Fluent English and Spanish.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Automation or a related field.
- 5 years of project management experience, with strong stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience in the chemical industry or a similar industrial environment is preferred.
- Proven experience in industrial automation and digital transformation, with knowledge of Industry 4.0/5.0 technologies and standards.
- Experience with robotic material handling, packing and palletizing automation, automated feeding, dosing and discharge systems.
- Knowledge of AGVs/AMRs, automated truck loading, online quality control and MES.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity and regulatory compliance in manufacturing environments.
- Willingness to travel to manufacturing sites across Europe (e.g. in Germany, Italy, the Netherlands), depending on project needs.
