About the Role The SANE program at Evanston Hospital seeks a Part-Time Per-Diem RN to conduct medical-forensic exams for adult/adolescent sexual assault survivors in the ED or inpatient units, delivering compassionate, patient-centered care while performing head-to-toe nursing assessments, forensic specimen collection, documentation, and forensic photography. What You'll Do
- Perform forensic nursing duties including medical forensic exams, specimen collection, documentation, and forensic photography for adult/adolescent sexual assault survivors
- Provide timely, non-judgmental, compassionate care in the Emergency Department or inpatient units
- Collaborate with Emergency Department physicians, survivor advocates, law enforcement, criminal justice officials, and civil attorneys
- Attend SANE meetings for peer/chart review and ensure compliance with Professional Forensic Scopes and Standard Practices, SASETA, and the Illinois Nurse Practice Act
- Work with Swedish Hospital ED, Violence Prevention Program, Illinois State and Chicago Police Departments, Resilience, and the Illinois SANE Coordinator
- Attend courtroom proceedings related to Swedish Hospital sexual assault cases What We're Looking For
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred
- Current RN licensure in Illinois
- Successful completion and certification of AA SANE training through the Office of the Illinois Attorney General or certification approved by the SANE Coordinator
- Prior experience in forensic nursing preferred
- Proficiency with Epic or willingness to train after hire Nice to Have

- Experience attending court proceedings or coordinating with legal teams Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly pay range: $36.00 - $55.80
