About this role

About the Role The Registered Nurse on the Linden Oaks Flex PM unit provides professional nursing care including patient assessment, planning and administration of care, documentation, and evaluation of outcomes. You will welcome patients, maintain a safe therapeutic milieu, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate admissions, transfers and discharge planning. What You'll Do

  • Regularly perform duties of professional nurse: assess patients' condition, develop and administer plan of care, document care, and evaluate outcomes.
  • Warmly welcome patients to the unit; promote and maintain a safe, therapeutic milieu; supervise and provide guidance to direct care staff.
  • Ensure rounds are conducted and precaution records completed in real time; coordinate with Resource and Referral for admissions and transfers.
  • Provide thorough hand-off communication on admission, transfer, discharge, and when boarding patients; interact with patients, families, and other healthcare providers to collect and analyze data.
  • Participate in the interdisciplinary planning process; ensure medical problems are incorporated into the treatment plan.
  • Assist in the development and attainment of nursing department goals; participate in activities to improve department functioning and your own professional competence.
  • Assist in selection and orientation of qualified personnel; evaluate suggestions objectively and, when needed, change behavior or seek guidance; participate in program evaluation.
  • Attend in-service programs and trainings; serve as a role model and resource for students; explain policies and procedures to staff and patients; engage with community groups to advance knowledge of mental health. What We're Looking For
  • Education: Nursing degree; Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse license; CPR certification (AHA or Red Cross).
  • Experience: One-year psychiatric experience preferred; basic knowledge of abnormal psychology; familiarity with management of a therapeutic level system and an understanding of a system of rewards and consequences.
  • Licenses/Certifications: CPR certification; CPI certification within 90 days of hire. Nice to Have

  • Salary: $36.00 - $55.80 hourly (USD).
