R&D Systems III

About the role

The R&D Systems III works with the R&D team to translate user needs into detailed design requirements and manage system specifications throughout the product development lifecycle. This role contributes to process improvements, conducts risk assessments and supports regulatory requests by helping ensure compliance with applicable industry standards. The R&D Systems III works closely with cross-functional teams to evaluate and validate systems, applying extensive knowledge of hardware, software and systems engineering.

Work model, sponsorship, relocation:

At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our local Montreal office at least three days per week. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time. Relocation assistance is not available for this position at this time.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Participate in project team activities to translate user requirements into design criteria for hardware, software, mechanical, electrical, interfaces and other system elements, stated as specifications for systems and subsystems.
• Manage system and subsystem requirements and ensure traceability using a requirements management tool.
• Participate in the development of system design architectures.
• Document and design communication protocols among subsystems, including software, firmware and FPGA.
• Contribute to product risk management documentation, including risk analyses, design FMEAs and process FMEAs.
• Conduct test bench studies and prepare technical reports.
• Provide technical expertise and execute verification and validation activities.
• Perform and document design change assessments for new and supported products.
• Manage and maintain the Jira backlog and prioritize features for implementation.
• Participate in the reconciliation of subsystem models and integration of features at the system level.
• Collaborate within cross-functional teams and represent R&D on cross-functional initiatives.
