Program Manager, Operations Excellence

Scaled Ops Excellence builds and runs the programmatic mechanisms that Scaled Operations depends on, across governance and business planning, large-scale organisational change, and security and compliance. Our programs span multiple functions and are delivered in partnership with leaders across the organization.

As a Program Manager, you will own significant programs from end to end, working directly with senior leaders. You will also build: taking processes that are manual, fragmented or undefined today and replacing them with automated, well-governed mechanisms that continue to run without you. You will work in a team that expects its members to build their own tools using emerging automation and AI technologies, and to share what works so others can use it.

Responsibilities

• Own complex, cross-functional programmes from end to end, including scoping, planning, dependency and risk management, communications, and delivery to agreed timelines and quality levels

• Create structure in new and undefined areas, defining the operating model, decision rights, and governance for work that does not yet have them

• Build, test, and deploy automation and AI-enabled tools against the team's own operating processes, and take them into live use

• Identify where manual effort and repeated handoffs can be automated, and measure the efficiency and quality improvements that are delivered

• Design programs to continue as sustained mechanisms, including the ownership, documentation, and quality controls that keep them running and the checkpoints that keep the right decisions with people

• Partner with senior leaders across the organisation to frame decisions, present options and trade-offs, and build consensus across functions with differing priorities

• Document and share the tools and approaches you develop so that colleagues can adopt and extend them

• Minimum Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in program management, operations, or a related field, including demonstrated ownership of large-scale, cross-functional programs

• Experience building and deploying automation or AI-enabled tools that are used by others in a work environment, and experience measuring the results

• Experience defining and implementing operational frameworks, process improvement methods or operating models across complex organisations, in areas that are new or undefined

• Experience translating ambiguous, large-scale operational problems into structured plans with measurable outcomes and clear accountability

• Experience presenting programme strategy, risks and performance insights to senior and executive stakeholders in writing and verbally, and reaching decisions with them

• Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies

• Evidence of staying up to date with emerging automation and AI technologies, and of applying them to new problems

• Experience leading organisational change initiatives, including stakeholder alignment, communication planning and measuring adoption

• Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)

• Experience building programme management capability within an organisation, including developing the tooling, templates, and training that other programme managers then use

• Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
