More than 3 billion people in over 180 countries use WhatsApp to stay in touch with friends and family, anytime and anywhere. In Brazil, it is also where a great deal of everyday life gets done — people message businesses, coordinate their families, and increasingly send money as easily as they send a message.

We are building a new team to take WhatsApp further in that direction. The newly established WhatsApp Services team is focused on making WhatsApp more useful for more of what people already use it for, and on building what comes next.

As a product designer at Meta, you'll have the opportunity to play a central role in the way we build technologies — ensuring they are valuable, easy to use and of the highest level of craft and execution. You'll be involved in every aspect of the product development process, from brainstorming the next great product innovation to tweaking pixels right before launch. We'll expect you to utilize your full range of product design, interaction design and visual design skills, while contributing to high-level strategic decisions with product and executive partners.

Product Designer — WhatsApp Brazil Responsibilities

• Identify problems and opportunities that aren’t easily discovered by others.
• Solve them with no guidance, with the goal of making things significantly better.
• Drive impact that goes beyond the company, through making your mark on the broader design and product industry.
• Coach people and teams, developing others around you.
• Use your expertise in multiple dimensions of design (product thinking, interaction design, execution and craft) to both elevate the products you’re working on and the teams you’re working with.
• Champion projects you feel strongly about and help teams get set up for success to work on them.
• Help to shape org or process decisions, providing regular guidance to design leadership.
• Mentor designers on the team, helping them to problem solve in complex product spaces.

Minimum Qualifications

• 8+ years designing complex software products with a focus on user experience, interaction, and visual design that meet business objectives
• 8+ years of strategic product thinking with experience developing product goals, identifying opportunities in a global market, and making decisions based on the impact to people and the company
• Experience representing work to senior executives, clearly and succinctly articulating the goals and concepts

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with cross-functional executive stakeholders
• Experience leading design strategy for large-scale consumer products
• Experience showcasing your end to end design process across multiple projects, that include interaction and visual design artifacts, multiple iterations, high-fidelity prototypes, and consideration of the impact and scale of work
• Experience connecting your work with other industry-leading related initiatives across the company while driving collaboration
• Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field
