About this role

Job title: Producer

Producers at Amber serve as the backbone of the studio, leading teams, driving projects, and managing expectations between partners and development teams. The role focuses on delivering projects on time, within budget, and at high quality while exceeding partner expectations. You will collaborate with internal and external developers, clients, and Amber leadership to own your project and guide the team to success.

What You'll Do

  • Coordinate development among Engineering, QA, Art, and Design.
  • Deliver milestones predictably on time, within budget, and with quality.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners.
  • Manage expectations and monitor stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Grow, inspire, lead, and retain high-performing teams.
  • Create and track comprehensive short- and long-term schedules.
  • Supervise task management, maintain backlogs, and communicate deadlines.
  • Foster accountability with follow-through and ownership of goals.
  • Communicate and challenge the team's goals; monitor health and create a safe, empowering environment.
  • Define roles and responsibilities; navigate team dynamics, address conflicts, escalate problems.
  • Keep projects sustainable and profitable; develop and improve team processes.
  • Schedule, lead, and attend meetings with clear agendas and thorough notes; provide weekly leadership reporting.
  • Collaborate with leaders to identify, mitigate, and escalate risks.

What We're Looking For

  • 7+ years of project management experience.
  • Experience leading teams and tracking complex projects.
  • Excellent understanding of the software development process.
  • Strong knowledge of project management, including Agile.
  • Clear, effective written and spoken communication.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, always seeking improvements.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to drive toward clarity.
  • Experience reporting on project status and risks; facilitation of retrospectives, post-mortems, and reviews.
  • Ability to objectively interpret feedback and make recommendations; perform under pressure in complex environments.

Nice to Have

  • Shipped one or more games in a production role.
  • People management experience.
  • Passion for fostering development processes and best practices.
  • Considerable experience playing games.
  • Deep expertise with task management software such as Jira.
  • Strong familiarity with complex spreadsheets.
  • Experience validating and creating proposals for new projects.
