This position is part of ZF’s ADAS & HPC business, which is entering an exciting new phase of growth and transformation within the advanced automotive technology space. The business unit is planned for divestiture, creating a unique opportunity to help shape the future of next-generation driver assistance and high-performance computing technologies.
PCB Technology Specialist supporting advanced ADAS and High-Performance Computing (HPC) platforms, driving technology selection, material qualification, supplier strategy, and PCB design standards across the product lifecycle. This role collaborates closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supplier partners to ensure robust, reliable, and scalable PCB solutions while advancing future technology roadmaps and resolving complex technical challenges.
What you can look forward to as a PCB Technology Specialist (f/m/d):
- Drive PCB technology development for next-generation ADAS and HPC products, ensuring performance, reliability, manufacturability, and compliance with automotive standards.
- Develop and execute the PCB technology roadmap, supplier strategy, and material lifecycle management to support innovation and product competitiveness.
- Qualify, approve, and manage PCB suppliers, materials, and manufacturing processes, including audits, assessments, and change control reviews.
- Define and maintain PCB design standards, DFM (Design for Manufacturing) guidelines, fabrication requirements, specifications, and engineering best practices.
- Investigate and resolve PCB quality, manufacturing, and reliability issues through root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
- Serve as a PCB technical expert, providing cross-functional support, engineering guidance, training, and collaboration across design, packaging, reliability, and manufacturing teams.
Your profile as a PCB Technology Specialist (f/m/d):
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent PCB industry experience, with a strong foundation in PCB design, DFM, and DFR for automotive electronics.
- Extensive knowledge of PCB materials, fabrication processes, assembly technologies, and the complete PCB development lifecycle from design through production.
- Experience designing complex multilayer PCBs, including HDI, microvias, sequential lamination, and advanced interconnect technologies.
- Proficiency with Siemens Xpedition or comparable PCB design and layout tools, along with familiarity with IPC, IEC, VDA, and automotive quality standards.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with global cross-functional teams, PCB suppliers, and contract manufacturers on qualification, process improvement, and issue resolution.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to resolve complex technical issues, convey technical concepts clearly, and continuously advance PCB technology knowledge.
- Fluent in English.
