About the Role Logan Health's Patient Access Representative in Conrad, MT provides on-site patient registration and administrative support for the assigned area. The role involves collecting and validating patient demographics and insurance information, verifying authorizations and referrals as needed, and entering data into the registration system. The position helps inform patients about estimated liability, collects payments, and refers patients to financial counseling as appropriate. What You'll Do

  • Prioritize and complete registrations in order of patients' acuity level as determined by clinical staff and department protocol.
  • Interview patients or family members to gather demographic, insurance, and visit-specific information, verify data from previous visits or pre-registration, and input critical data elements.
  • Launch insurance verification software to verify eligibility and benefits; calculate and communicate out-of-pocket liability as appropriate.
  • Collect and process payments for current services and any previous balances in line with cash management and posting policies.
  • Identify self-pay patients and refer them to financial counseling per department procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, third-party payer requirements, pre-authorization/referral guidelines, and current accepted plans.
  • Proactively communicate customer service issues and process improvements to leadership.
  • Meet productivity and quality requirements and take ownership of work to ensure excellent service.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge to correctly identify insurance plans in systems and understand contract requirements to ensure accurate information.
  • Provide administrative services to support effective and efficient operations in assigned areas.
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance as scheduled.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed. What We're Looking For
  • Related coursework beyond high school or experience in a complex administrative support position.
  • Previous work experience in registration, financial clearance or patient financial services with strong working knowledge of healthcare insurance and benefit programs preferred.
  • Associate's or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of one year experience in a customer service-focused position required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and medical coding preferred.
  • Experience in Patient Access (scheduling, registration, financial clearance), insurance verification, billing or certified medical assistant experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, self-starter, able to set priorities and work as part of a team or independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences. Nice to Have
  • Associate's or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and medical coding preferred.
  • Registration, financial clearance or patient financial services experience preferred. Compensation & Benefits
