About the Role Endeavor Health is hiring a Patient Access Representative I in Skokie, IL to handle inbound patient requests, verify insurance, schedule appointments, and guide patients through online services. This role combines data entry into EPIC with HIPAA privacy compliance and a focus on delivering friendly, accurate patient experiences. Onsite training will occur for 6-9 months with the option for remote work after successful training. What You'll Do
- Handle patients' requests over the phone for multiple Medical Offices/Hospital departments while applying correct workflows and protocols
- Collect information from patients and enter data into EPIC (our EHR)
- Schedule appointments, procedures, and events at NorthShore locations
- Register and verify insurance eligibility, informing patients of their financial responsibility
- Promote key initiatives for the Patient Access Center and NorthShore (e.g., online services)
- Adhere to HIPAA privacy guidelines when speaking with patients and families
- Route calls to the correct administrative and clinical departments after assessing patients’ needs
- Support departmental changes with flexibility and a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment What We're Looking For
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
- Experience: One year of customer service experience required; inbound call center experience required; healthcare experience and prioritizing scheduling preferred
- Skills: Basic computer skills (Windows, Excel, Outlook); ability to type ~25 words per minute; strong customer service focus with active listening, issue resolution, attention to detail, and analytical/problem-solving abilities; dependable attendance
- Other: Eagerness to learn and adapt to workflow/process changes Nice to Have
- Healthcare experience (preferred)
- Prior scheduling experience (preferred) Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $19.89 - $28.84 per hour
