OT Security Response Engineer

About the Role Moderna is seeking an Operational Technology (OT) Response Engineer to strengthen our enterprise defense and incident response capabilities across OT environments. This role combines incident response expertise with OT cybersecurity to protect systems that monitor, control, and support critical manufacturing operations. The engineer will sit on the Cybersecurity Incident Response team and collaborate with Cybersecurity, OT, and IT teams to contain and respond to threats while balancing operational continuity. What You'll Do

• Lead incident response and investigation across OT environments, including triage, containment, eradication, recovery, and post-incident review.
• Investigate security alerts related to malware, endpoint threats, identity-based attacks, and related activity.
• Work hands-on with security tools such as Splunk Enterprise Security (ES), Nozomi, and CrowdStrike Falcon.
• Understand regulatory concerns in OT environments and coordinate response efforts across cybersecurity, OT, and IT teams.
• Communicate findings clearly, summarize business impact, and coordinate necessary response actions.
• Analyze OT-specific threats and logs to investigate security events by reviewing network traffic and system behavior.
• Balance cybersecurity response with operational continuity in industrial settings. What We're Looking For
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related discipline.
• 6+ years of experience in cybersecurity, software engineering, and/or IT with subject matter expertise in threat detection, detections engineering, response, or threat hunting.
• Hands-on expertise with Splunk Enterprise Security (ES), Defender, and CrowdStrike Falcon.
• Knowledge of OT/ICS environments, manufacturing networks, equipment connectivity and operational constraints.
• Understanding of cloud security architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern detection telemetry.
• Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, and CIS frameworks for threat mapping and control alignment. Compensation & Benefits
• Salary range: $145,900 - $234,200 per year.
