About the Role Liberty University is seeking an Online Adjunct Faculty member in Animation for the online undergraduate program. The role involves teaching various levels of animation, applying industry-standard practices, and contributing to a biblically informed Christian worldview in teaching and scholarship.
What You'll Do
- Teaching undergraduate and/or graduate students within the online Graphic Design curriculum.
- Managing and supporting developed lectures, discussions, and course assignments with current industry standard practices.
- Providing regular and timely feedback to students to improve their design thinking and execution as well as to supervisors to promote student success.
- Evaluate student work and provide detailed critiques submitting grades in a timely manner.
- Stay current with design industry trends, software, and technologies.
What We're Looking For
- Master’s Degree in Art, Graphic Design, or Communication Design, with demonstrated experience in the concentration; a terminal degree (MFA, MDes, or PhD in animation or related visual arts field) is preferred.
- A plus: professional achievements in animation or digital media equivalent to MFA; relevant certifications in animation and motion graphics.
- Familiarity with industry-standard animation tools (e.g., Toon Boom Harmony, Adobe Animate; 2D and 3D tools such as Blender, Maya, ZBrush, 3DS Max).
- Experience or interest in game design and game engines (Unity or Unreal Engine) is valuable but not required.
- Knowledge of character setup techniques including rigging and dynamics is a plus.
- Comfort with cutting-edge design technologies such as AI, generative design, and motion graphics.
- Experience teaching animation courses online is preferred.

Compensation & Benefits
- Courses are typically paid at $800 per load hour.
