• Under general supervision, the Multimedia Content Creator produces compelling visual content that informs, educates and engages residents. This position is responsible for professional videography, photography, podcast production, and multimedia storytelling that supports County communications across digital platforms, social media, websites, presentations and other communication channels. Availability outside normal business hours is required to support meetings, special events, emergency communications and other County activities. This position reports to the Assistant County Manager or other assigned supervisor.

• Essential Job Functions

• Assist with incoming media inquiries by helping develop interview talking points and supporting press coverage for high-visibility events

• Write, edit and produce press materials, news releases, fact sheets, videos, presentations and content for publication

• Craft weekly updates for stakeholders and partners and help respond to external engagement requests

• Execute and measure effectiveness of communication and social media strategy through research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification

• Generate, edit, publish and share daily content (original text, images, video or HTML) that builds meaningful community engagement and information

• Collaborate with other departments to coordinate content and tapings, including the Navajo County Connection and internal communications

• Develop and maintain a social media content calendar, which can include, but not limited to, blog posts, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, LinkedIn, YouTube and Instagram

• Prepare press releases and assist with website content development, articles, white papers, presentations and speeches, including presentation of material

• Attend Board of Supervisors, chamber, chapter, city and town council meetings and other public events, including nights and weekends

• Provide multimedia coverage of special events and activities such as parades, trainings and other employee gatherings

• Contribute to developing and maintaining a consistent county brand/image through visual and multimedia content

• Assist with coordinating multimedia coverage of social, community and public events involving the Clerk of the Board, elected officials, departments and Government Relations Director

• Knowledge and Skills

• Confident communicator and presenter.

• Strong writing, editing, proofreading, layout and design, professional printing/publishing skills are essential.

• Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple content projects simultaneously.

• A wide degree of creativity and latitude.

• Experience creating, scheduling and executing social media content across multiple platforms.

• Social media legal guidelines.

• Excellent writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills.

• Online marketing and good understanding of marketing channels.

• Positive attitude, detail and customer oriented with good multitasking and organizational ability.

• Desirable Qualifications

• Associates degree in English, Journalism, Marketing or Communications; AND five years experience; OR equivalent training and experience; AND extensive experience with social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, YouTube, Google+ and LinkedIn; AND experience writing, editing and crafting content for press releases, presentations and speeches; AND valid Arizona Driver License.

• (Regular Part Time employees working 30 – 39 hours a week receive some benefits on a pro-rated basis.
