Middle QA Engineer

Role overview Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Middle QA Engineer for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Romania. We are looking for a Middle QA Engineer to join a Scrum team and take an active role in ensuring product quality throughout the development lifecycle. The role focuses on comprehensive progression and regression testing of complex hardware and software systems, investigating product issues, maintaining test environments, and supporting reliable, high-quality releases.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on QA professional who enjoys investigating complex systems, takes ownership of quality, and can work effectively with Product Management, Development, and DevOps teams.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience in a Software QA role.

• Hands-on experience testing multidisciplinary systems that combine software and hardware components.

• Proven experience executing progression and regression testing cycles.

• Experience working with SQL databases.

• Experience working in Windows-based environments.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to investigate and isolate complex issues.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Will be a plus

• Experience testing cloud-based solutions, preferably in AWS environments.

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

• Experience testing APIs, integrations, and end-to-end system workflows.

• Familiarity with communication protocols and distributed systems.

• ISTQB or SQA certification.

• Experience with test planning, test design, and risk-based testing approaches.

Responsibilities

• Execute end-to-end progression and regression testing for complex HW/SW systems.

• Design, maintain, and execute test scenarios based on product requirements and business flows.

• Identify, document, and track software defects through resolution.

• Validate new features while ensuring existing functionality remains stable and unaffected.

• Analyze application logs, databases, and system behavior to investigate and isolate issues.

• Build, configure, and maintain both generic and customer-specific test environments.

• Reproduce reported issues efficiently and provide detailed analysis to development teams.

• Work closely with Product Management, Development, and DevOps teams to ensure product quality and release readiness.

• Define and maintain QA documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test execution reports.

• Participate in sprint planning, refinement sessions, and release validation activities.
