Job title: Mental Health Technician
About the Role Logan Health Behavioral Health is seeking a full-time (36 hours per week) Mental Health Technician to support the night shift on a 40-bed acute inpatient unit. The role focuses on providing compassionate care, supervision, and supporting individualized treatment plans within a safe, confidential environment.
What You'll Do
- Provide compassionate care and supervision to patients/clients, while documenting behaviors and supporting individualized treatment plans.
- Maintain and promote a positive and safe environment through regular safety checks.
- Facilitate group activities, fostering engagement and support within the unit.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in psychology/sociology, education or related field preferred; other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Prior experience working in a residential, psychiatric, or mental health facility is required.
- RQI Responder (BLS) required within 7 days of hire/transfer or before independent patient care, whichever occurs first.
- De-escalation Training required within twelve (12) months of hire.
- Knowledge of cultural, ethnic, social, historical and spiritual issues relevant to the provision of mental health treatment preferred.
- Excellent organizational, detail-oriented, self-starter, with critical thinking skills; able to work in a team and independently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact and professionalism.
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn other software as needed.
