About the Role Maintenance Worker Tech reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and assists with the physical upkeep of the College, with a focus on vehicle maintenance and repair. The role requires adherence to regulatory programs and the ability to read and interpret technical documents. This position supports event setups, asset care, and cross-team facilities activities, including on-call duties. What You'll Do
- Assist in the physical upkeep of the College and maintenance of all properties under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Focus on vehicle maintenance and repair; use of appropriate PPE and compliance with regulatory programs (e.g., NEC, EPA, UBC) as needed.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, schematics, and electrical/mechanical drawings.
- Inspect equipment before use and report unsafe conditions.
- Set up and take down events, move furniture and other items as required.
- Support other Facilities Service teams as needed; provide on-call availability.
- Apply safety practices and proper use of PPE; follow local government environmental policies.
- May be required to work outside in various weather conditions; perform strenuous physical activity. What We're Looking For
- High School diploma or 4 years of experience in the relevant field.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and lift up to 75 pounds.
- Willingness to work on-call, and to occasionally work evenings or weekends as job duties demand.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and ability to interpret technical documents; familiarity with National Electrical Code, EPA, UBC and related policies is a plus.
- Strong teamwork, ethics, and thoroughness; ability to work in a dynamic campus environment. Compensation & Benefits
