About the Role
As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will oversee and coordinate the maintenance activities within our facility, ensuring that all equipment and machinery operate effectively and efficiently. Your primary focus will be on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and managing a team of skilled maintenance personnel to minimize downtime and ensure a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead the maintenance team in the execution of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures to enhance equipment reliability.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify issues and initiate repairs as necessary.
- Manage work orders and maintenance records to ensure proper documentation and tracking of all maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with other departments to schedule maintenance and minimize operational disruptions.
- Train and mentor maintenance staff, promoting continuous development and adherence to safety standards.
- Assist in budgeting for maintenance supplies and equipment, ensuring cost-effectiveness in operations.
- Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations and contribute to creating a safe workplace for all employees.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a supervisory or lead role within a maintenance environment, preferably in manufacturing or industrial settings.
- Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems as they pertain to maintenance operations.
- Competency in using maintenance management software and tools for tracking and reporting tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose technical issues swiftly.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations, reinforcing a culture of safety within the team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant certification in maintenance management or a trade such as electrical or mechanical engineering.
- Experience in project management or leading maintenance improvement initiatives.
- Additional qualifications or training in Health and Safety standards or Lean Management principles.
- Familiarity with budgeting and inventory management related to maintenance functions.
