About the Role Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, a national law firm, is seeking a Litigation Paralegal for our Belleville, Illinois office. This full-time role supports general civil and complex litigation, performing research, fact investigation, and document preparation to assist attorneys. What You'll Do
- Continual review and management of case files from inception through mediation/arbitration/trial/settlement
- Prepare subpoenas for depositions and document productions
- Prepare initial discovery (interrogatories, requests for production, requests for admissions) and draft responses including privilege logs
- Prepare attorneys for depositions; draft deposition summaries/abstracts
- Research and engage with subject matter experts; monitor deadlines
- Prepare legal documents (briefs, pleadings, chronologies, agreements; trial/mediation binders)
- Investigate facts as requested; capture and record billable time per firm/client guidelines
- Trial preparation: subpoenas, notebooks, exhibit lists; witness lists; witness management; schedule trial testimony; assist with trial presentations
- Attend trial as necessary What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience in general civil and complex litigation
- Knowledge of complex litigation and trial preparation
- Experience with exhibit manipulation software such as Sanction/Trial Director/TrialPad; Relativity and PowerPoint
- Proficiency with internet research and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); Adobe Acrobat Pro; LexisNexis; PACER; iManage
- Strong written and oral communication; attention to detail and organization
- Ability to manage deadlines and maintain confidentiality; professional and team-oriented Nice to Have
- Additional experience with exhibit manipulation software (Sanction/Trial Director/TrialPad, Relativity, PowerPoint) Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $70,000 – $90,000 annually (USD)
