Drive the future of AI Transformation at Pearson as part of Technology Strategy & Architecture. Inspire innovation. Empower learning.

Pearson, the world’s leading learning company, is hiring a Lead Specialist, DevOps & SRE for our Office of Chief Technology Officer (OCTO) to play a key role in TS&A team at Pearson.

Why This Role Matters:

Are you passionate about shaping the future of AI in enterprise environments? Do you thrive at the intersection of strategy, technology, and transformation? Join our Technology Strategy & Architecture team and be part of a mission-driven team that’s building the foundation for responsible, scalable, and impactful AI across the organization.

This is more than a job—it’s a chance to lead the AI movement, influence enterprise-wide decisions, and empower teams to unlock the full potential of artificial intelligence.

In this key position, you will provide the DevOps and SRE expertise needed to turn Pearson’s AI architecture strategy into reliable, secure, and scalable enterprise platforms across Project Cookie, the Semantic Layer, and the Pearson AI Inventory. Project Cookie requires strong operational engineering to become the governed path from AI prototype to production, enabling citizen creators and engineering teams to deploy applications quickly while meeting Pearson’s standards for security, compliance, identity, observability, cost control, and production resilience. The Semantic Layer depends on robust platform practices to ensure Pearson’s engineering standards, policies, patterns, and contextual knowledge can be packaged, versioned, tested, maintained, and consumed consistently by AI agents and development tools. The Pearson AI Inventory requires dependable data pipelines, integrations, automation, and operational controls so it can become the authoritative system of record for AI assets across the enterprise. This role is therefore critical to ensuring these strategic capabilities are not only designed well, but also engineered, operated, monitored, and improved as trusted enterprise services. By combining DevOps, SRE, cloud, automation, security, and AI-aware engineering practices, this position will help reduce delivery friction, strengthen governance, improve platform reliability, and turn Pearson’s AI investment into measurable, reusable, and sustainable business value.

As a key member at OCTO and Pearson, you will be expected to embody, and role model our leadership dimensions:

Live Our Purpose: You align your values, actions, and goals with Pearson’s mission. You inspire others by articulating a compelling vision, connecting daily work to our broader purpose, and making decisions that reflect a deep understanding of our strategy.

Simplify the Complexity: You navigate ambiguity and distill complexity into clear, actionable plans. You help teams understand how their work contributes to strategic goals, enabling focus, clarity, and effective execution in a dynamic environment.

Carry Our Culture: You foster a culture of customer centricity, high performance, and exceptional collaboration. You lead with integrity, empower others, and build inclusive, high-performing teams that reflect Pearson’s values and behaviors.

Deliver Results: You set ambitious goals and execute with quality, precision, and speed. You hold yourself and others accountable for outcomes, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and delivering measurable impact for learners and stakeholders.
