Lead Product Manager (Technical Product Lead)
Kolomoni Microfinance Institution (Gambia) is a CBG-licensed microfinance institution serving customers across The Gambia. We are recruiting a Lead Product Manager to own product delivery across our technology initiatives.
THE ROLE
You will be the single point of accountability for requirement quality — turning what the business wants into something engineering can actually build. You will own the roadmap and the backlog, run discovery with stakeholders, and carry a product from definition through development, testing, release and improvement. You will report to the Chief Technology Officer.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Develop, maintain and communicate product roadmaps aligned with organisational objectives.
- Translate business requirements into clear product requirements, user stories, process flows and acceptance criteria.
- Own and prioritise the backlog on business value, customer impact and dependency.
- Hold requirements to standard — sufficiently defined and technically assessed before development begins.
- Facilitate refinement, sprint planning, demonstrations and release planning, and coordinate user acceptance testing.
- Manage dependencies, risks, constraints and delivery blockers, escalating what the team cannot resolve.
- Ensure security, compliance, regulatory and operational requirements are built in rather than retrofitted.
Requirements
- WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Substantial experience in product management or product ownership, delivering software through a full lifecycle.
- Experience working directly with engineers on technical feasibility and delivery planning.
- Working knowledge of APIs, system integration and application architecture.
- Agile and Scrum delivery experience.
- A first degree in computer science, engineering, business or a related discipline. Product, Agile or project management certification is an advantage.
- Experience in financial services, payments or another regulated environment is an advantage.
