About the Role
The UNESCO Culture Sector offers internships across its major units to support the promotion of culture, the creative economy, and the safeguarding of cultural and natural heritage in line with the 2030 Agenda. Interns will gain exposure to UNESCO’s work on policy development, program delivery, and emergencies in culture.
What You'll Do
- Support day-to-day management and implementation of culture-sector initiatives across World Heritage, Living Heritage, Diversity of Cultural Expressions, Communications, Cities and Events, Culture and Emergencies, Cultural Policies and Development, and the Executive Office.
- Assist governance mechanisms, reporting, nominations assessment, and capacity-building activities; help update the World Heritage List and related databases; develop learning materials and awareness content.
- Monitor projects, design and evaluate programs, and support partnerships and fundraising proposals in intangible culture and related heritage areas.
- Contribute to communications, events planning, and coordination of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network; support coordination of statutory meetings and special events.
- Support emergency preparedness and response in culture, and assist in integrating culture into development policy through MONDIACULT and related work.
- Provide technical and policy support to ensure coordination across the Culture Sector with other UNESCO sectors.

- Strong writing, research, and analytical skills; willingness to assist with reporting, data collection, and knowledge sharing.
- Proactive, collaborative, and able to engage with governments, partners, and internal teams.
Compensation & Benefits
- Duration: 1 to 6 months; Internship position with no salary details publicly disclosed in the posting.
- Location: Headquarters in Paris with potential field offices; on-site work expected.
