Instructional Designer
Our Client, a Public Utility that provides natural gas and electricity to most of Michigan's 10 million residents, is seeking a talented, self-driven individual for a 12-month+ contract opportunity as an Instructional Designer.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Instructional Designer to support our client and their Instructional Design team. The Instructional Designer applies adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and company standards to create and revise online and classroom training solutions. This includes designing engaging learning experiences that meet business and learner needs.
This position is primarily remote with occasional on-site meetings with the team or project stakeholders in Jackson MI.
A portfolio demonstrating web-based training/eLearn examples is required for consideration for this role.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Execute course development from in-take through launch in the LMS
- Revise, design, and develop eLearn and classroom instructional content
- Launch and test learning content within the LMS
- Generate quarterly reports on itemized training costs for billing purposes
- Other related ID tasks, as needed, per project
Strong project management skills are essential for success in this role, which serves as the primary point of contact between Corporate and the subsidiary to ensure streamlined communication and coordination of training initiatives.

Strong understanding of adult learning principles and the ability to apply instructional design methodologies to develop effective training solutions

Competency in developing eLearning courses using Articulate Storyline, Rise, and Vyond

Well-developed writing, research, and editing skills, with familiarity in applying standard style guides

Proven project management experience, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Experience working within a Learning Management System (LMS)

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
