Position Title HVAC Technician
Employment Type Full-time (1.0 FTE)
Work Schedule M-F; 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; 12 Months; Evenings and weekends as required.
FLSA Status Non-exempt
Position Summary Under general supervision, provides maintenance for commercial and residential HVAC, in both freon and hydronic systems. Maintains HVAC/Refrigeration systems throughout campus and other buildings owned by Austin College. Aids as needed in central power plant operations and maintenance of associated equipment. Performs all functions within the HVAC/Refrigeration trade and boiler operations. Performs essential functions personally, through others, or in conjunction with designated personnel or outside vendors/experts.
Minimum Knowledge (Obtained through education, experience, training, licensure, certification, or through a combination of the aforementioned.)
High School Diploma or equivalent. Two years of related experience.
Holds Type II EPA Certification to work on stationary air conditioners and refrigeration systems under Section 608 of the Clean Air Act.
Desired Knowledge Five or more years in the operation and maintenance of varied types of modern HVAC, and refrigeration equipment in an industrial, educational or health care facility.
Holds Universal EPA Certification to work on stationary air conditioners and refrigeration systems under Section 608 of the Clean Air Act.
