At Eni, we are looking for a Flow Assurance Technology Expert to join Liverpool Bay CCS in London. You will be responsible for developing and optimising CO₂ transportation and injection strategies across the carbon capture and storage (CCS) value chain, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable flow from processing facilities to the reservoir. You will provide flow assurance expertise to support project development and operations, contribute to the definition of CCS network requirements, resolve issues related to fluid behaviour, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise injectivity, support project delivery, and manage interfaces across key project work packages.

About Liverpool Bay CCS Limited

Liverpool Bay CCS Limited, a member of the Eni S.p.A. group, is the owner and operator of the Liverpool Bay Carbon Dioxide (CO₂) Transportation and Storage (T&S) infrastructure. This project is a key component of the HyNet North West Industrial Cluster, aimed at reducing carbon emissions in the North West of England and North Wales. Liverpool Bay CCS Ltd works with hard-to-abate industries in the North West of England and North Wales, to transport captured CO₂ from various plants to safe and permanent storage beneath Liverpool Bay. The company is repurposing some of its existing infrastructure, including depleted reservoirs that have held natural gas for millions of years, to support economic growth in the region and help the UK achieve its Net Zero objectives. Main responsibilities

• Ensure the flow assurance basis of design for CO₂ projects.

• Provide technical support, advice, and solutions throughout the different stages of projects, where flow conditions may transition from free flow to compression.

• Review detailed designs and technical documentation provided by work package managers.

• Develop and integrate commissioning, start-up, and operational procedures across multiple work packages.

• Interface with emitters to support network expansion activities from a flow assurance perspective.

• Provide transportation support for gas flow and dense-phase CO₂ operations.

• Provide technical support for pipeline utilisation for CO₂ transportation, downhole valves, and the control of the Joule-Thomson effect across the system, from the reservoir to surface facilities.

• Support the definition of the most efficient CO₂ transportation strategy, optimising pressures and flow rates from onshore to offshore facilities.

• Promote environmental standards and ensure compliance with company requirements, offshore chemical regulations, and OSPAR guidelines.

• Provide technical support on chemical management, including the evaluation of chemical solutions to enhance injectivity, optimise utility systems, and protect plant and equipment. Assess products from both technical and commercial perspectives, and evaluate their effectiveness and utilisation.

• Support injection metering activities and assist with allocation-related issues.

• Conduct site visits to project locations and provide support on operational matters.

• Participate in risk assessments relating to process operations and CO₂ injection activities.

• Ensure compliance with the Company's Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and standards.

• Fully comply with the Company's Code of Ethics and Compliance Model.

• Comply with the HSE Critical Roles Procedure where applicable to the position.

• Skills and experience required

• Degree or postgraduate qualification in Engineering.

• Significant experience in the oil and gas industry in a production or engineering role.

• Experience managing engineering activities; flow assurance and process modelling experience would be advantageous.

• Strong analytical mindset with a logical and methodical approach.

• Self-motivated team player with strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent verbal, written, listening, and influencing skills.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise competing projects effectively.
