About the Role

We are seeking a Fire Access and Security Assistant to oversee and ensure compliance with fire safety and access procedures within our facilities. This role focuses on maintaining a secure environment while collaborating with safety and security personnel to implement fire access and security protocols effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor fire access points and ensure they comply with safety regulations and organizational policies.
• Assist in conducting regular safety audits and inspections to identify and rectify potential hazards.
• Maintain and update records related to fire safety compliance and access control measures.
• Coordinate training sessions for staff on fire safety procedures and emergency evacuation plans.
• Respond to security incidents and emergencies, providing appropriate documentation and follow-up actions.
• Liaise with external safety and emergency services for compliance and safety exercises.
• Implement security measures to protect company assets and personnel from theft and damage.
• Support the preparation of reports and presentations regarding fire safety and security initiatives.

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience in a fire safety or security role, preferably within a commercial or industrial setting.

• Knowledge of fire safety standards, emergency response procedures, and access control systems.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with diverse stakeholders.

• Problem-solving mindset with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining safety standards.

• Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in fire safety management or security operations would be advantageous.

• Experience with emergency planning and operational continuity processes.

• Familiarity with relevant legislation and compliance requirements related to fire safety and security.

• Training in first aid or crisis management would be an asset.
