Job title: Facilities Engineer (Mechanical, HVAC, Plumbing)

About the Role As a Facilities Engineer at Western Digital's Fujisawa HDD R&D site, you will maintain, improve, and manage mechanical, HVAC, and plumbing systems across the facility, including cleanroom areas. You will lead projects to update aging equipment, optimize reliability and energy efficiency, and coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure smooth operation of the office and manufacturing spaces.

What You'll Do

  • Plan, implement, and manage mechanical, HVAC, and plumbing systems and related equipment across the site, including cleanroom areas
  • Develop and execute facility layouts, utility designs, and equipment upgrade projects; manage external contractors and vendors for operation and maintenance
  • Monitor office and manufacturing area temperatures, HVAC controls, and building design to improve reliability and energy efficiency
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project progress and timely completion
  • Oversee aging equipment replacement or expansion projects and ongoing maintenance programs

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in factory equipment installation and management
  • Knowledge of building services planning and design
  • Experience with installation and management of factory infrastructure equipment
  • Strong project management skills and a proven track record
  • Problem-solving ability and good communication skills
  • Japanese native level; English daily conversation to business level
