About the Role Western Digital is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) specialist to lead the EHS program and ensure regulatory compliance, creating a safe and environmentally conscious workplace. Based at the Fujisawa Office, you will drive EHS operations, risk assessment, training, and emergency response to support safe manufacturing and operations.
What You'll Do
- Lead development and maintenance of the EHS operations and OHS programs, ensuring compliance with laws and company standards.
- Monitor KPIs and implement accident prevention programs.
- Manage machinery safety and OHS-related equipment.
- Manage ergonomics program, hazard identification, and risk assessment.
- Conduct internal training on fire prevention and disaster prevention.
- Oversee ERP (Emergency Response Program).
- Run on-site fire brigades and emergency response teams.
- Plan and execute AED management and evacuation drills.
- Provide training for fire and disaster response.
- Ensure compliance with EHS-related regulations and company standards.
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing or similar environment.
- Diploma from technical college or university, or higher; Safety/Health Manager qualification or equivalent knowledge.
- Ability to understand and apply EHS regulations in Japanese.
- English language skills for written documents and communications; English conversation within the team.
