About the Role

As Zipline scales its medical delivery network across Nigeria, the Electrical Deployment Lead will oversee the electrical execution of new Zipline sites, from design review through commissioning and operational handover. The role provides technical leadership through field oversight and vendor management, ensuring installations meet applicable codes, regulations, safety, quality, schedule and reliability standards.

Responsibilities

• Own the electrical execution of new Zipline sites from design review and site preparation through installation, commissioning, and operational handover.
• Review electrical designs, drawings, bills of materials, and installation plans and coordinate required adaptations with Engineering.
• Support the development and evaluation of RFPs and RFQs for electrical contractors and vendors.
• Direct and oversee electrical contractors in the field, ensuring work meets approved designs, applicable codes, Zipline standards, and project schedules.
• Lead electrical inspections, commissioning, acceptance testing, defect resolution, and handover documentation.
• Troubleshoot electrical and infrastructure issues during deployment and partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Country Leadership to resolve risks.

Requirements

• 8+ years of relevant experience in electrical design, installation, or field deployment, including contractor oversight and troubleshooting and commissioning skills.
• Active COREN registration as an Engineer.
• Direct experience working with NEMSA requirements and inspectors; NEMSA certification is preferred.
• Knowledge of applicable Nigerian electrical codes, standards, and regulations, plus familiarity with an international electrical code or standard such as NEC, BS 7671, or IEC 60364.
• NFPA 70E, EN 50110, or equivalent electrical safety training.
• International experience deploying complex electrical systems across varied operating environments or adapting foreign-sourced systems to local conditions.
• Experience managing electrical contractors and overseeing complex field installations, with strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently across Nigeria and be on-site for extended deployment phases; must be based in or able to relocate to Nigeria.
• Legal authorization to work in Nigeria.
