Job title: DevOps/High Performance Trading System Engineer
About the Role Jump Trading Group seeks a dynamic software engineer to join a growing quantitative trading team. The role focuses on owning trading issues, operational issues, and the deployment process for production trading, with an emphasis on scalable and fault-tolerant systems. You will write and maintain a complex Python infrastructure, ensure production servers are properly configured, and keep information for production processes up to date.
What You'll Do
- Ensuring production servers are properly configured.
- Writing and maintaining a complex Python infrastructure.
- Other duties as assigned or needed.
What We're Looking For
- Strong knowledge of Python and Linux.
- Some experience with C++/SQL preferable.
- Strong debugging skills in both code development and systems infrastructure.
- Good instincts for performance vs simplicity trade-offs.
- Ability to make the right engineering decisions to achieve maintainability, extensibility and debuggability.
- Self-directed, excited to take ownership of projects and be responsible for mission-critical systems.
- You will be able to manage your own priorities and have the context-switching capacity required to work on several projects at once.
- Reliable and predictable availability.
Nice to Have
- Some experience with C++/SQL preferable.
