About the job
I’m building Whitebrinjal, an enterprise high tech market network focused on the journey from technology discovery to enterprise adoption.
I’m looking for a co-founder to build and execute the capital side of the company with me from zero.
This is a founder level opportunity, not a CFO role, fundraising advisory role, fractional position or strategy only role.
Whitebrinjal is currently pre MVP, pre revenue and pre institutional funding.
You will own the capital problem end to end, from identifying where the money should come from and opening the right conversations to handling diligence, solving roadblocks, structuring the financing and driving the process through to completion.
What Whitebrinjal is building
The ambition is not to build another marketplace.
Whitebrinjal is exploring the infrastructure around how enterprise technology gets discovered, evaluated, commercialized and ultimately adopted.
The journey runs from discovery and qualification through matching, evaluation, POC, pilot and deployment.
Technology can exist for years without becoming adopted by the enterprises that need it.
That is the gap Whitebrinjal is going after.
Capital is not just about raising money
At this stage, an investor may ask for stronger market validation, customer evidence, research, technology validation, financial benchmarks or strategic relationships.
I do not want someone whose answer is simply that we need to do those things first.
The expectation is to understand what is actually required, determine the most efficient way to establish it, find the right people to help, make the calls, build the relationships and get the work done.
If we need customer validation, you help get it.
If we need an expert, you find one.
If we need a strategic investor, you open the conversation.
If a diligence issue comes up, you work through it.
If the financing structure is wrong, you fix it.
Think. Decide. Act.
That is the operating model.
Who I’m looking for
You may have come from investment banking, VC, PE, corporate development, strategic finance or entrepreneurship.
The background matters less than what you have actually done.
This role is for someone who has personally executed fundraising, financing or strategic transactions, not someone looking to learn fundraising by joining a startup.
I want someone who has personally been in the room when money was being raised, deals were being structured and difficult questions had to be answered.
Someone who can pick up the phone and get a serious investor, strategic partner, customer or expert into the conversation.
Someone who has built relationships over years, not someone whose value is a spreadsheet of contacts.
Someone who understands technology businesses, marketplaces and network effects.
Someone who can look at a problem and work out how to get it solved instead of explaining why it cannot be solved yet.
Someone who is comfortable operating across India and international capital markets, including the US, Singapore, Greater China, the Middle East and Europe.
And most importantly, someone who wants to build, not simply advise.
A large network is not enough.
A good fundraising résumé is not enough.
A strategy deck is not enough.
I need someone who can turn relationships and judgment into action.
Why Whitebrinjal
There are platforms for discovering products.
There are platforms for reviewing software.
There are platforms for professional networking.
There are marketplaces for buying and selling.
But enterprise technology adoption is much more complicated.
A technology can be technically ready and still have no clear path into an enterprise.
The buyer may not know what to ask.
The right stakeholders may not be aligned.
The technology may not be properly evaluated.
The business case may not be clear.
Procurement may not know how to structure the engagement.
And the seller may not know how to navigate the organisation.
That is the space Whitebrinjal is going after.
If we get this right, we are not simply building a marketplace.
We are building a network around enterprise technology adoption, with the potential to extend into workflow, intelligence and infrastructure.
That is the company we are trying to build.
The founder opportunity
I’m building the vision, product and market thesis.
I want a co-founder who will take the same level of ownership of capital, investors and the institutional side of the company.
You will not be joining an existing finance team.
You will build this with me from zero.
Whitebrinjal is currently pre revenue and pre funded, so there is no initial cash compensation.
The opportunity is meaningful founder equity and the chance to build something from the earliest stage.
The initial working arrangement can be structured around where we are today, with the expectation that the role grows into full time founder involvement as the company reaches the right funding and operating milestones.
The exact equity structure will depend on the person, the commitment and the scope of responsibility.
We are building from Gurugram. I care more about founder level commitment and getting important work done together than about where someone sits every day. Regular in person time will matter, particularly around major decisions, fundraising and company building.
If you have spent your career financing, investing in or helping build companies and now want to build one yourself, I’d like to hear from you.
