About the Role Franklin Pierce University’s Arizona Hybrid MPAS Program is seeking qualified clinical preceptors to educate the next generation of Physician Assistants. Preceptors supervise students during their hands-on clinical year, guiding them through real-world patient care while they complete didactic coursework remotely.
What You'll Do
- Precept and supervise PA students during nine rotations (five weeks each) across Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Women’s Health, Emergency Medicine, Surgery, Behavioral Health, and two Electives.
- Rotations are primarily in-person; behavioral health may include telemedicine. Students may participate in telemedicine when appropriate.
- Provide mentorship and feedback, collaborate with Franklin Pierce University’s clinical faculty, and help maintain high standards of professional practice.
- Earn a cash stipend for each student; the stipend increases with the number of students you precept.
What We're Looking For
- Required Qualifications: Current, active state licensure in the state where the rotation will be completed. If a PA, current NCCPA certification; if MD/DO, board certification in the area of practice; if a non-physician/ non-PA, current board certification or licensure. Minimum one year of full-time clinical experience within the relevant specialty. Commitment to diverse populations and professional standards.
- Who Can Serve as a Preceptor? PA, Physicians (MD/DO), Nurse Practitioners (NP), Certified Nurse Midwives (CNM), and licensed healthcare providers qualified in their area of instruction (e.g., Psychologists and LCSWs).
Nice to Have
- Academic or team-based experience; prior teaching or precepting experience.
