About this role

About the Role Logan Health is seeking a PRN Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) to float to multiple Flathead Valley and Hi-Line locations. The role performs laboratory testing across departments, maintains quality control, and supports coverage during busy periods. Travel among Kalispell, Whitefish, Chester, Conrad, Cut Bank, and Shelby is required, with accommodations provided for long-distance travel. This is a flexible, variable-shift PRN opportunity designed to provide variety and coverage as needed. What You'll Do

  • Perform clinical patient testing using a variety of automated and non-automated technologies.
  • Monitor and evaluate quality control for all tests; participate in QC and quality management activities.
  • Contribute to performance improvement projects and study outcomes across departments.
  • Document activities clearly and legibly; communicate effectively with coworkers; ensure timely reporting of results.
  • Triaging and organizing the work area for efficient workflow; troubleshoot problems and seek alternatives or assistance when needed.
  • Complete accreditation-related tasks; participate in CAP Competency Program and proficiency testing; maintain computer skills.
  • Accurately order and cancel tests; verify results and add comments to patient records per department procedures; assist with shift handoffs.
  • Train new employees/students and participate in additional projects; contribute to a positive staff culture.
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance as scheduled by department leadership. What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or related science.
  • Montana state Clinical Laboratory Scientist license or ability to obtain within 45 days of hire.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn other software as needed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; strong organizational skills; detail-oriented; self-starter; critical thinking; able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact and professionalism.
  • Willingness to travel and float across multiple locations; flexible with variable shifts (PRN). Nice to Have
  • Experience with CAP Competency Program and proficiency testing.
  • Ability to contribute to procedures and policies and assist with revisions by leadership.
  • Experience training new staff or students; ability to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment. Compensation & Benefits
  • 12% PRN differential pay.
  • Additional shift differential pay for evenings, nights, and weekends.
