Category Sourcing Manager – Indirect Procurement
We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Category Sourcing Manager to join our Indirect Procurement organization. In this role, you will act as a strategic partner to senior business leaders, including C-suite and executive stakeholders, helping shape how the organization manages third-party spend and creates sustainable business value.
You will own and lead strategic sourcing and category management initiatives across key areas of indirect spend, challenging established ways of working, identifying new opportunities, and bringing innovative procurement solutions to the business.
This role combines strategic thinking, commercial acumen, stakeholder influence, and strong execution. You will use market intelligence, data analytics, enterprise AI, and data storytelling to turn complex spend and market insights into clear recommendations and measurable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities

Strategic Business Partnering and Stakeholder Influence

Act as a trusted procurement advisor to C-suite and senior business leaders, providing strategic insights, commercial recommendations, and opportunities to optimize third-party spend.

Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across functions, developing a deep understanding of business priorities, challenges, and growth plans.

Proactively challenge existing practices and assumptions, bringing external market perspectives, innovative solutions, and best-in-class procurement thinking to the organization.

Influence decision-making at the highest levels, balancing business requirements, commercial objectives, risk, and long-term value.

Partner with stakeholders to build procurement strategies that are aligned with broader business and functional objectives.

Category Management and Strategic Sourcing

Develop and execute comprehensive category strategies across key indirect spend areas such as IT, Marketing, Professional Services, HR, Facilities, and other corporate services.

Lead complex, high-value sourcing initiatives from opportunity identification and market analysis through to sourcing, negotiation, contracting, implementation, and benefits realization.

Develop category roadmaps that identify opportunities for cost savings, cost avoidance, value creation, supplier optimization, risk mitigation, and process improvement.

Lead cross-functional sourcing teams, bringing together business stakeholders, Finance, Legal, and other relevant functions to deliver strategic outcomes.

Establish a strong understanding of supplier markets, emerging trends, cost drivers, and competitive dynamics to inform category strategies and sourcing decisions.

Ensure sourcing and category initiatives deliver sustainable results that are tracked, measured, and communicated to stakeholders.

Data, AI and Procurement Transformation

Leverage procurement data, analytics, and enterprise AI capabilities to identify opportunities, improve decision-making, and increase procurement effectiveness.

Use data storytelling to translate complex spend, supplier, and market information into clear, compelling recommendations for senior stakeholders.

Identify opportunities to automate, simplify, and transform procurement processes through technology, AI, and innovative ways of working.

Establish fact-based business cases that demonstrate the financial and strategic impact of procurement initiatives.

Contribute to the continued evolution of the Indirect Procurement function, helping establish scalable, data-driven, and digitally enabled ways of working.

Commercial Value and Supplier Management

Lead complex commercial negotiations, ensuring procurement strategies deliver competitive pricing, favorable contractual terms, and broader business value.

Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships, balancing performance, innovation, commercial value, resilience, and risk.

Identify opportunities to consolidate spend, improve supplier performance, optimize commercial models, and unlock additional value.

Partner with Finance and business stakeholders to ensure savings and other procurement benefits are accurately measured, validated, and sustained.

Monitor category and supplier performance, proactively addressing risks and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

Leadership and Procurement Excellence

Lead through influence, bringing structure, pace, and accountability to complex, cross-functional initiatives.

Mentor and support procurement colleagues, sharing category expertise, commercial best practices, and strategic sourcing capabilities.

Represent Indirect Procurement as a strategic business function, promoting a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and value creation.

Contribute to procurement-wide initiatives and transformation programs beyond individual category responsibilities.
