About the Role Jump Trading Group is seeking a Campus Software Engineer Intern in London to join our Core Development team for a 10-week intensive program. You will design, code, test, and maintain a distributed trading system and gain exposure to large-scale, high-performance infrastructure with mentorship and opportunities for full-time consideration at Jump. What You'll Do
- Participate in a 10-week internship within the Core Development team, designing, coding, testing, and maintaining the distributed trading system.
- Learn fundamentals of a large-scale, high-performance infrastructure; sharpen C++/Python programming on Linux.
- Work on production-targeted projects that go through full-cycle development, testing, and release using Agile methodologies.
- Receive continuous feedback and coaching from a dedicated mentor while collaborating with experienced software engineers.

- Experience with C++ programming on Linux
- Experience with Linux command line
- Experience with Git/version control
- Experience with Python programming on Linux
- Strong understanding of data structures and threading models
- Ability to work with a team in a fast-paced environment
- Passion for solving complex problems using both novel and state-of-the-art commercial solutions
- Interest in using knowledge from hardware, networking, operating systems to produce high-performance software
- Reliable and predictable availability
- No finance or economics study or work experience required Nice to Have
- Past internship or job experience in a software development role
- Advanced coursework in algorithms, network programming, operating systems, compilers
- Experience in Rust
- Claude Code in a real work environment
- Experience with gRPC, Kafka, Redpanda, eBPF, DPDK, ClickHouse, FastAPI, Kubernetes, Pandas, SQL, MySQL, DuckDB or the Arrow ecosystem
