About the Role This is a full-time, shared faculty position co-funded by Summa Health System, Akron City Hospital and NEOMED. The faculty will spend 80% of their time at the hospital focusing on establishing a geriatrics practice and precepting pharmacy students (12 student months/year). The role combines teaching, scholarship and service with opportunities for faculty development. What You'll Do
- Teaching: campus-based education such as small/large group teaching, student applicant interviews, assessments/evaluations, and student advising.
- Scholarship: produce scholarly work including clinical and/or outcomes research, review articles, book chapters, case reports and more; present at local, regional and national meetings.
- Service: participate on departmental, College, and University committees; be active in local, state and national professional organizations; participate in structured on-campus faculty development programs.
- Other: engage in campus activities such as workshop/lab facilitation, lecturing, admission interviews, committee service and student advising. What We're Looking For
- Pharm.D. degree.
- Completion of a PGY1 residency or equivalent experience.
- Eligible for licensure in Ohio.
- Preferred: PGY2 training in Geriatrics.
- Physical requirements include ability to utilize a phone, computer and screen and other office equipment. Nice to Have
- PGY2 training in Geriatrics is preferred. Compensation & Benefits
- Full-time position co-funded by Summa Health System, Akron City Hospital and NEOMED. 80% of time spent at the hospital with 12 student months/year for geriatrics precepting.
- Salary not disclosed; Pay Grade 2. Role includes scholarship expectations and participation in on-campus faculty development programs; vaccination policy may apply as per campus guidelines.
