Position Summary

The Assistant Director of Digital Media, Esports aids the Executive Director in leading digital media efforts while providing assistance in the leadership and organization for to support overall operation of the program in compliance with all institutional, conference and national competition association rules and regulations. Responsibilities of the Assistant Director include, but are not limited to, aiding in team scheduling, facilitation of program practices and competitions for select titles, set up and delivery of live steaming and social media content, support of recruitment of prospective student-athletes and assistance with team travel.

This is a part-time, on site, exempt position that reports to the Executive Director, Esports.

The salary range for this position is $28,000-$30,000 annually.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Prior experience in Esports as a coach, participant or related role, such as a designer or livestream coordinator
  • Excellent organizational, communication (written and verbal), interpersonal skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships
  • Ability to demonstrate a commitment to service excellence by embodying Roosevelt’s core values, mission, and vision in every aspect of the role working with students, faculty, staff, and visitors
  • A positive and professional demeanor is a must
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Working Conditions

  • Normal climate-controlled office environment is provided. Job is largely sedentary, but there is a need to move about the office and buildings frequently. Occasional bending, stooping, lifting, pushing and/or pulling is required (typically less than 10 pounds of weight or pressure). Regular use of desktop computer is required, calling for frequent hand/wrist movement and repetition. Moderate level of stress. Occasional travel within the local or regional setting may be required.

Competition and Practice Management:

  • Aid the Executive Director in facilitating team practices and competitions across various titles, and ensure seamless registration, scheduling, and execution of national and conference league matches. Ensure student-athlete safety and welfare during practices and competitions. Occasionally assist with event management and team travel to competitions.

  • Aid the Executive Director, as needed, in the recruitment of prospective student-athletes, including on-campus visits, occasional off-campus events and on-going dialogue that drives enrollment.
