About the Role
The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) at Washington State University Tri-Cities seeks to develop an adjunct faculty pool to teach in-person course offerings throughout the 2026-2027 academic year. Adjunct faculty are fixed-term, 4.5-month appointments (Fall and Spring Semesters) with no guarantee of continued employment beyond a course assignment.
What You'll Do
- Teach traditional semester-long courses (Fall and Spring) on the WSU Tri-Cities campus, including large enrollment lower-division and upper-division courses, and courses with laboratory sessions.
- Instructors may teach in-person during daytime, afternoon, evening or weekend sessions.
- Employ student-centered pedagogy and a broad range of learning resources and technologies to support student success.
What We're Looking For
- Required Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in relevant field.
- Demonstrated experience or potential for teaching with student-centered pedagogy.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and colleagues in written and verbal formats.
- Position Sponsorship Eligibility:
- Not eligible for work visa sponsorship.
Nice to Have
- Terminal Degree/Ph.D. in relevant field.
- Ability to use new teaching approaches that advance pedagogy of the discipline.
- Commitment to teaching excellence.
- Demonstrated record of successful teaching across a range of student demographics.
- Minimum of one-year experience teaching college courses in relevant area(s).
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual salary: $25,952.40 - $47,047.50 (100% FTE), prorated based on course credits and type of instruction.
