Position Overview
Nelson University seeks a highly qualified adjunct faculty member in Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology to begin teaching in Fall 2026. This is an immediate instructional need within the Department of Behavioral Sciences and Community Services.
Primary Responsibilities
- Teach assigned psychology courses beginning Fall 2026.
- Integrate Christian faith and clinical professional identity in course engagement.
- Facilitate applied learning, case analysis, and professional skill development.
- Provide timely, substantive feedback to students.
- Submit required course documentation and assessment materials.
Minimum Qualifications
Education

Preferred:

State licensure as a psychologist

Minimum 3 years teaching experience in a college or university setting

Required:

Earned doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology from a regionally accredited institution.

ABD candidates with a clear timeline toward completion of the terminal degree may be considered.

Professional Qualifications

Documented professional clinical experience.

Experience teaching on-campus and in online formats preferred.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to engage students from diverse backgrounds.

Active participation in a local church community; Assemblies of God affiliation preferred.
Compensation
- Compensation is determined according to established on-campus/distance education pay scales and is based on credentials and teaching assignments.
Employment Classification
- This position is classified as exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
